Cappadocia Flight 5

Nevsehir

I wasn't even going to go on that hot air balloon ride. I thought "I've already done a hot air balloon ride before...why do I need to do it again?" Fortunately fate and an insistent travel guide persuaded me to join others in our group on the early morning flight out of Cappadocia. Perennially ranked as one of the best hot air balloon rides in the world, the high plateau of Cappadocia is dotted with rock formations formed by volcanic eruptions that were shaped by thousands of years of wind and rain. Known as “fairy chimneys,” some of the rocky limestone spires became homes for the region’s earliest human inhabitants. Later populations carved ornate temples and underground cities into the rock.
